Why workplaces test and tag
Electrical appliances are more common in the workplace than ever, and we rarely stop to ask whether a lead, a power board or a power tool is still safe to use. Testing and tagging answers that question before somebody gets hurt — and it is how an employer meets their duty to provide a safe workplace.
What we do, in two steps
Our service is quick, straightforward and fully compliant with AS/NZS 3760:
- First, we visually and physically inspect each appliance for damage, defects or modification — cords, plugs and sockets included.
- Then we run the electrical tests with a portable appliance tester: earth continuity, insulation resistance, current leakage and polarity.
Every item that passes gets a durable, non-reusable tag showing the tester, the test date, the retest date and the standard. Anything that fails is tagged out and withdrawn from service immediately. You receive a printout or PDF of the full results for your records.

Elite Test and Tag provides onsite testing and tagging of portable electrical equipment to Australian Standard AS/NZS 3760, servicing all suburbs of Brisbane. We are fully qualified, insured and licensed — licence number 67096.
